When does the season start?
The Fall/Winter season typically begins in mid-September and runs through the beginning of April. The summer season begins late April and runs through August.
How do I get on a team?
There are a few different ways to get on a team. The first is to register for an evaluation skate in late summer or early spring (dates TBD) depending when the season begins. We do our best to place players on a team that has player needs/requests. The second way is to fill out a player request form. If there is an opening on a team for your skill level, we do our best to place you. For novice or beginner players, we offer a drop-in on Fridays that you can get connected to others who play in the league.

How do you determine what division to play in?
We use the following table to help place players in the best division for their skill level.
| USAH Rating | SKAHL Div | Description |
| Novice | DN | These players are often new to the game, or are still developing their fundamental skating and stick handling skills. They may also be learning the basic rules of the game and how to play as part of a team. |
| Advanced Novice | D | This league is for newer players, or those who aren’t as skilled at the sport. Players at this level should already know the basics, such as shooting, skating, and stopping, but skills beyond these aren’t guaranteed. |
| Bronze & Intermediate | C | These players have a solid understanding of the fundamentals, including multiple shooting styles, skating backward, and stopping from a sprint. |
| Silver | B | These players may have played ice hockey in college or high school, and have continued to play since. |
| Gold | A | These players are often former professionals, semi-professionals, or high-level college players. |
What does it cost to play?
The short answer is that it depends. For SKAHL we have a team fee that is charged to teams for each season (email skahl@snokingice.com for team pricing). Each captain determines the cost to their players depending on how many players that team has and the number of full/part-time players there are.
For our DRAFT leagues, we charge a per-player cost and that total depends on how many games the season has.
